Bird Gardens

Most of the crowds at Busch gardens seem to head to the right of Morocco and tour the park in an anti-clockwise direction. It may be a good idea to try a clockwise touring plan, where the first Area we would encounter would be the Bird Gardens.

Lory Landing

A domed habitat that houses a variety of brilliantly coloured birds, including several species of parrot and a flock of lively Lorikeets. For $1.00 you can feed them nectar, a special juice mixed just for them.

Flamingo Island

One of the largest flocks of Caribbean Flamingos in captivity.

Aviary

Nearly 200 species of bird, including Macaws and Egrets fly freely amongst the trees in a walk-through cage.

Bird Show Theatre

An open ampitheatre houses a 30- minute World of Birds live show, which displays macaws, condors, and eagles performing natural behaviours. You can also have your photo taken with one of the birds after the show.

Koala House

An elaborate display with Chinese motifs is home to a group of four Pandas. You may also spot some Koalas and some Joey's, (baby Koalas). There is a people mover that you can ride for a close-up view.

GWAZI

Twin wooden roller coasters that depart the station together, separate- and then speed towards each other, toward an apparent head-on collision. Whether choosing the Gwazi Lion, or the Gwazi Tiger experience, you will encounter 6 flybys where the two trains dive at each other at a combined speed of 100mph, during the race to finish first. Themed after a fabled animal with the body of a lion, and the head of a tiger. Ride duration is 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Land of the Dragons

Land of the Dragons is a cluster of Kiddie sized attractions in a wet playground. Rope climbs and bouncing walkways fill a three-storey Tree House at the centre of an Enchanted Forest, where you'll also find one of a kind slides, a gentle waterfall, along with some colourful rides and a friendly dragon named Dumphrey. Loud speakers play annoying kiddie songs, and several times a day the trainers will tell animal stories with live animals as props. We may have to wait until later in the day or we may never get Beth out of there, or go at midday to get some relief from the sun.
Height restriction on children's rides is a maximum of 56" tall.
