Encircled by Discovery River, this lush green island is your gateway to all the other lands of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The vibrant centrepiece of the Park, Safari Village is adorned with colourful buildings that rise from the cool shadows of The Tree of Life. Each and every structure comes alive with primitive carvings in every gable, door, column and window.

Discovery River Boats: -

Like all islands Safari Village is surrounded by water, in this case Discovery River. Climb on board a boat for a trip on the river that will include live animal encounters, a water dinosaur and a fire breathing dragon (the dragon is a cave).

The Tree of Life: -

Standing at 140-feet tall and 50-feet wide, with carvings of over 325 animals.
Like Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom Park, The Tree of Life is the icon of Animal Kingdom. The entire tree is surrounded by shimmering rock-pools of water, and long grass filled with a host of birds and small animals. Stroll around Safari Village Trails through the root system of The Tree of Life. This soft landscape is filled with otters, flamingos, tamarinds, lemurs, tortoises and colourful ducks, storks, cranes and cockatoos.

It's Tough to Be a Bug: -

Inside The Tree of Life, it's hollow trunk is cool, dark and roomy housing a 430-seat theatre which shows a state of the art 3-D show which takes a humorous look at life from a bug's point of view, crawling with special effects. Flik from 'A Bug's Life' hosts it.

Meet the ARTimals: -

A fun and fanciful display of living art that shows the imagination people have found in the world of the animals. March of the ARTimals has been withdrawn because it jammed the pathways that weren't designed for a parade and the floats are now used as photo opportunities in Safari Village called Meet the ARTimals.
