The main highlight of
West Side is the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL SHOW, LA NOUBA.
Another attraction is DISNEYQUEST, a virtual
playground combining the magic of Disney with the
most interactive technology available. The five
storey indoor interactive area has four distinct
worlds of entertainment, dining and shopping all
under one roof.
As far as dinner and entertainment goes all
tastes are catered for, from Californian cuisine
at the WOLFGANG PUCK CAFÉ to spicy Latin music
and Cuban food with the tastes of Miami's South
Beach at BONGO'S CUBAN CAFÉ, created by Gloria
Estefan and her husband. We'd best avoid this one
in case she shows up and sings. At Dan Ackroyd's
HOUSE OF BLUES you'll find cooking with heart and
Soul as they serve up live concerts, a Gospel
Brunch and Mississippi Delta cooking.
Catch the Downtown beat at the three storey
VIRGIN MEGASTORE which boasts an outdoor stage,
20 video preview stations and over 300 CD
listening stations, or visit Florida's largest
AMC 24 THEATRES COMPLEX that shows the most
recent releases and offers super comfy seating, a
three storey screen and a state of the art sound
system designed by George Lucas. Admission for
evening shows is $6.50 and $3.50 for kids, ($4.50
for pass holders which I assume is our Hopper
pass). Early shows before 4.00PM are $4.50 and
$3.75, and all twilight shows between 4.30PM and
6.00PM are $3.75 for all seats.
Right next door is PLANET HOLLYWOOD which is open
from 11.00AM until 2.00AM. Packed with some of
the world's most valuable movie and television
memorabilia from its star owners Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. The
menu offers American favourites like ribs,
burgers and salads at a cost of between $10 to
$20 per person
For lovers of the out of the ordinary there are
quirky shops everywhere. You'll be attracted to
MAGNETRON MAGNETZ the speciality magnet shop and
STARTABILIAS. When you've done your shopping you
can quench your thirst at FORTY THIRST STREET
with fresh fruit juices or cappuccino coffee, or
enter a delicious fairy tale dungeon of sweet
delights at DISNEYS CANDY CAULDRON.
